Privacy & Security

We protect your privacy and secure your data. We use minimal information to provide AI features safely.

What We Collect & Use:

• Your Flashcards: Information provided for flashcard generation.
• Device Information & Identifiers: Device model, Android version, hardware details, and device/user IDs for security and API misuse prevention.
• Usage Data: Anonymous app usage data to improve the app. You can opt-out anytime in Settings → "Share Usage Data".
• Installation Data: App version, install source, and installation timestamps for security monitoring.
• Billing Information: Subscription status and purchase history for premium features (handled securely by Google Play).
• Advertising: We may show ads to free users. Google AdMob is configured to serve only age-appropriate advertisements that comply with children's privacy laws (COPPA).

Cloud Sync (Google Drive)

• What we sync: Your flashcard data (decks, cards, study progress) packaged as backup files for sync/restore.
• Where it’s stored: Backups are stored in your Google Drive. We use Google Drive only as the storage provider; the files belong to you.
• Access and control: You sign in with your Google account to enable sync. You can sign out at any time and delete backup files from the app.
• When it happens: Backups are created only when you manually trigger a sync. You stay in control of when backups occur, with no background uploads or surprise data usage.
• Optional: Sync is optional. Also, you can delete existing backups at any time.
• Security: Transfers to and from Google Drive use HTTPS/TLS. Google also encrypts files at rest in Drive. Your Drive content is protected by your Google account; we recommend enabling two-factor authentication.
• Third-party terms: Google Drive is provided by Google. By using sync you also accept Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
• Status: This feature is rolling out soon; details here describe the intended behavior once available.

Your Data & Control:

• Local Storage: Your flashcards and decks are stored locally on your device. You can delete this data at any time directly in the app.
• Cloud Sync Control: Sync is optional. You enable it by signing in with Google; you can sign out any time. You can delete backup files from the app or directly in Google Drive. Uninstalling the app does not remove Drive backups—delete them from Drive if you no longer want them.
• Backup & Restore (Manual): You control your data backups. The app provides Import/Export in Settings to manually back up and restore your flashcards when switching devices.
• Analytics Opt-Out: You have full control over usage data sharing. Go to Settings → "Share Usage Data" to opt out of analytics at any time.
